Ellen Walkley Ellen Walkley

Ellen Walkley has lived and worked on Kiawah for 22 years and is an integral part of the Kiawah Island Real Estate team. “There really is no comparison to Kiawah,” says Ellen. “We have the best beach, championship golf, beautiful clubs, and endless opportunities to create lifelong friendships.”

“My clients have added immensely to my life, and it is hard to call what I do ‘work.’ I meet wonderful people and make new friends every day,” she adds. “I want my buyers to make the right purchase at the right time so they’re happy with their decision. We’re going to have a long term relationship, and their trust in me is the most important thing. My home is on Kiawah, so helping others choose this amazing lifestyle is very personal. I don’t really ‘sell’ property – Kiawah sells itself. I merely explain the best options to become a part of a very special place.”

Active in the Kiawah community, Ellen founded a Kiawah women’s organization called Arts, etc., which supports arts for children in the Charleston and Johns Island communities. Since its inception, it has donated more than $1 million to worthwhile arts projects. Every year Arts, etc. hosts the Kiawah Art and House Tour, an Island highlight. With nearly 170 members, Arts, etc. offers Kiawah women an opportunity to be together with speakers during monthly luncheons while contributing to the Charleston community.

Ellen is a native of Pittsburgh and has also had homes in Maine. She feels that experiencing different parts of the country has made her appreciate the gentle weather and people of South Carolina. “There isn’t a night when we have dinner with Kiawah friends that someone doesn’t say ‘Aren’t we lucky to live in paradise?’”
