Living life on the islands is a dream come true for Barbara Johnson. More than 25 years ago, family and friends were shocked to learn that Barbara and her husband, Jim, had decided to pack up their family and move from the small Midwestern town of Bolivar, Ohio to the South Carolina Lowcountry after a vacation sparked something in her heart.

“I should have been born here,” she told her husband, Jim, on that fateful trip. To Barbara’s delight, he couldn’t agree more. It was the unparalleled beaches and salt marshes, the maritime forests and natural wildlife, and extraordinary lifestyle that appealed to all her senses.

Since then, Barbara has never looked back. She’s worked hard to create a successful real estate career, selling one of the things she loves most: Charleston’s sea islands. With 27 years of sales experience, including her previous position as broker-in-charge at St. Johns Properties, Kiawah Island Real Estate’s former MLS subsidiary, she brings an incomparable knowledge to her clients.

Because she has a genuine concern for everyone’s best interests, Barbara’s clients often become friends. It’s a testament to her low-pressure approach as well as her unwavering commitment to their success.

Whether you’re looking to buy or sell your Kiawah Island home, her valuable insights into the local market, keen business sense, and genuine concern for her client’s best interests make all the difference. She takes the time to understand the needs of her clients and works hard to meet them. What’s more, her warm and personable approach puts buyers and sellers at ease, helping make them feel comfortable and confident throughout the process.
