Kiawah Island Triathlon
The Kiawah Island Triathlon is just around the corner! This USAT-sanctioned triathlon takes place on October 8 and includes a 0.7-mile swim, 25.1-mile bike ride, and 6.1-mile run.
We’re exhausted just thinking about it, but Kiawah Island’s stunning scenery and outdoor activities make working on your fitness a little bit easier! Whether you’re actively training for this competitive event or simply want to watch from the comfort of home, Kiawah offers incredible options for taking part in the triathlon. Just follow our handy guide…
If You’re Training for the Race
Many of our Kiawah Island homes feature private pools for training — not to mention luxurious master baths or outdoor whirlpool spas to ease tired muscles! Plus, explore the incredible swimming amenities found at The Beach Club, Marsh House, and Cassique Sports Pavilion with a Kiawah Island Club Membership.
Biking and Running
Kiawah boasts 30 miles of paved trails ideal for cycling. Whether you choose a leisurely pace or a high-speed race through spectacular Island landscapes, the trail welcomes both cyclists and runners.
Dream Home Gym
Who needs the gym when there’s 123 Flyway Drive? This private home boasts incredible fitness options and comes with a Club Membership for access to even more amenities. Swim laps in the pool, pound the pavement on the treadmill in the private gym downstairs, or take the private boardwalk to the beach to jog, cycle, or swim along the Atlantic Ocean.
If You’re Just Watching
Even if you’re not participating in the Tri-Kiawah, you can still root for competitors from home. The final portion of the triathlon takes runners through several of Kiawah’s beautifully shaded neighborhoods like Parkside Villas, Turtle Cove Villas, and Tennis Club Villas. Take a look at a few of the available properties in these coveted neighborhoods, all featuring outdoor living spaces so you can step outside and cheer on the athletes — or just enjoy the view.
This Parklake Villas property features a recent remodeling, water views, vaulted ceilings, and ample natural light.
A recently reduced three-bedroom property in Turtle Cove, this villa boasts a spacious kitchen and screened porch.
Interior details like shiplap walls enhance the coastal vibe at this villa with a private, screened outdoor porch.
