Our Team Danielle Whitson
Danielle Whitson’s family first purchased property on Kiawah more than 20 years ago, and even then – as a child growing up in Pennsylvania – she knew she had come across a truly special place.
After graduating from college with a major in marketing and communications, Danielle became a successful executive in the television industry, working in cities such as Harrisburg, PA, Washington, DC, and Charlotte, NC before settling in Charleston in 2000.
Danielle and her husband Scott, a Charleston native and residential custom homebuilder on Kiawah, met in 2004, and when the couple decided to get married, Kiawah was the natural choice.
“Kiawah has so many special memories for me and my family, I could think of no better place to begin the next chapter; after all, that is the true essence of the Island, it is all about family,” says Danielle. “Scott and I now have three children – Ava, Emma, and Conner – and our children are now creating memories and stories of their own here on Kiawah.”
In her real estate career, Danielle has worked in new home construction, production homes, and custom-built luxury homes. She has marketed and managed several condominium conversions, where she excelled in selling more than 50% of all seller-related closings. She has been the recipient of several awards and recognitions, including Accredited Buyer Representative, New Construction Specialist, Fine Home and Estates Specialist, Salesperson of the Year, and Kiawah Island Real Estate Rookie of the Year (2011).
Danielle’s background in television media is an asset to her career as a sales professional. She is adept at combining her marketing expertise, project management, and negotiation skills with her business savvy, strong attention to detail, and natural ability to help clients achieve great results, whether they are buying or selling Kiawah Island property.
But when you ask Danielle what she considers her biggest accomplishment in real estate? “The trust and confidence of my clients,” she says. “Finding the right property is such a personal and emotional decision for most families. When clients have the trust and confidence to refer you to their family and friends, you know you have helped them in fulfilling their dreams. I consider this to be the highest compliment in sales.”
