A graduate of Hampden-Sydney College with degrees in English and French, Doug Lee grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. He spent summers at Hilton Head and began working there soon after he graduated.

In 1984, Doug made a trip to Kiawah Island with the sole goal of “checking out my competition.” He was so impressed with the beauty of the Island that he joined Kiawah Island Real Estate that same day!

Doug enjoys focusing all of his attention on Kiawah Island property. “Our team is not distracted by all that is happening in the tri-county area,” Doug says. “That allows us to become extremely familiar with all of the properties, amenities, activities, and plans, and to provide expert guidance.”

After 31 years with Kiawah Island Real Estate, Doug’s greatest joy is derived from the friendships he has built. “Now, I am working with the grown children of my clients,” he says. “It’s fun to see how they have changed, and to help them find their family’s special place on Kiawah. I can’t imagine working anywhere else.”

Currently a board member of Drayton Hall Plantation and The Historic Charleston Foundation, Doug is deeply devoted to Kiawah Island and the greater Charleston area.
