Originally from New Hampshire, Lisa Berl studied education at Keene State University before moving to the Islands in 1986. 

She raised two children here, and feels lucky to have been front and center as the area has changed and grown. “It was before Freshfields Village, when the nearest supermarket was a 20-mile drive! It was challenging at times but I wouldn’t trade a moment of it.”

An avid reader, beachgoer, shopper, and “pet parent” of a rescued Golden Retriever, Lisa enjoys volunteering her time to worthy causes. She has managed numerous fundraisers and home tours for her children’s school. A frequent face at annual golf tournament fundraisers for MUSC Children’s Hospital and the Barrier Island Clinic, she has also contributed her time and expertise to both Habitat for Humanity’s local ReStore and the Charleston Therapeutic Riding program.

From a young age, Lisa has enjoyed traveling. Born in Paris, she and her parents crossed the Atlantic on the Queen Elizabeth. During her high school years she visited family in Kobe, Japan, and moving often within the US, she visited 33 states. “I really didn’t know what to expect when I first came to South Carolina, but Kiawah far surpassed everything I had imagined!”

After nearly a decade working closely with Kiawah Island Real Estate top producer Bob Rummel, Lisa is a natural at making everyone feel instantly welcome.

Her clients know she has their best interest at heart. “She has a true understanding of properties, rentals, and how the various entities on Kiawah work,” says Bob. “Our clients could always rest assured, knowing that whenever they had a question, Lisa would find the answer.”

Lisa’s enthusiasm for everything Kiawah has to offer, combined with her personal knowledge of the surrounding area, makes her a natural choice when it comes to finding the perfect piece of paradise on Kiawah Island.
