On March 31st, Mike Lata received Spoleto’s 2023 Mary Ramsay Civic Award “for his outstanding contributions to Spoleto and the Charleston area”. Mike is the Chef and owner of Charleston’s acclaimed FIG and The Ordinary, and winner of the James Beard Foundation Award in 2009 for Best Chef. Members of The Kiawah Island Club also know Mike as the consulting chef of B-Liner, where southern culinary tradition pairs with light, fresh coastal influences in creative yet familiar dishes.
