Two Kiawah Island Club ambassador golfers will play in the 2017 PGA Championship, held August 7th – 13th at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. Wesley Bryan and Russell Henley earned their spots in the 156-player field by winning a PGA Tour event since last year’s Championship. They also qualified by scoring within the top 70 players who have earned the most Championship points from the 2016 RBC Canadian Open through the 2017 RBC Canadian Open.

Wesley Bryan and Russell Henley will compete in Golf’s Final Major at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC.

“We’ll be cheering on our Kiawah Island Club professional golf team next week as Wesley and Russell compete in the PGA Championship,” said Carol Preisinger, Director of Golf Instruction for the Kiawah Island Club. “We’re ecstatic to have our new ambassador golfers performing well on the Tour. Our Members have benefited from watching them prepare for the Majors on our Club golf courses and have loved the opportunity to share facilities with two esteemed golfers.”

Bryan has had five top 10 finishes this season, including a win in April at the RBC Heritage. He is currently ranked 23rd in the FedExCup standings and 37th in the Official World Golf Ranking. Henley secured a win at the Shell Houston Open in April and has had four top 10 finishes this season. He is currently ranked 18th in the FedExCup standings and 53rd in the Official World Golf Ranking. Both Bryan and Henley qualified for the US Open and British Open in 2017. Henley also played The Masters.

"The PGA Championship is an event all golfers feel honored to play, including myself," said Henley. "I've been preparing for Quail Hollow by spending some extra time recently on the courses at the Kiawah Island Club. After last year's top 25 finish at the PGA, I'm hoping for continued success in next week's Major."

The Kiawah Island Club is attracting regional golf talent through its recent million-dollar renovations to Cassique and the River Course and the construction of the Kiawah Island Club Golf Performance and Development Center. The Center’s digital practice range assesses your swing, monitors progress and provides custom recommendations to improve your game. Its on-site fitness center allows golfers to participate in workouts specifically targeted to strengthening muscles for golf. The Golf Performance and Development Center also includes neurofeedback, launch monitor technology, SAM PuttLabs and biomechanical 3D analysis.

"The Golf Learning Center has become a great asset for me as I've prepared my game for the 2017 PGA Championship," said Bryan. "The facilities at the Kiawah Island Club are truly some of the best in the country. My results have been strong this year, including my win at the RBC Heritage, and I’m excited to compete amongst the best in Charlotte.”
