Don Rutledge

Don Rutledge is a true Charleston native. Don and his family have lived in Charleston for eleven generations. He and his wife have a daughter, a son, and two grandsons. Don has been selling real estate on Kiawah since 1979, and he feels fortunate to have witnessed the Island’s growth from the cradle. "It’s the people who have made my time here so much fun," he reflects. "The owners have matriculated from 45 states and many foreign countries. Their backgrounds, geographically, socially, academically, and culturally, are fascinating to me. I feel so lucky to have been able to introduce some of them to the civilized seclusion that Kiawah has to offer. And they, in turn, have made Kiawah Island a better place by having chosen to become a member of our community."
