Roy Smith

Architect Member and Chairman

Roy Smith has worked with the Board periodically for several years, mostly recently returning as Chairman in 2005. He has practiced architecture in locations as diverse as Atlanta, Tokyo, and Wyoming, as well as coastal South Carolina. He brings a unique perspective to the Board, as he earned not only a master's degree in architecture at Clemson, but also a law degree from the University of Wyoming. The Architectural side of his business ranges from forensics (determining causes and solutions for problems in architecture and construction) to design to construction administration. He received his license to practice Architecture in 1989 and was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 1994. He currently practices both architecture and law in the state.
