Lifestyle at Kiawah

Stay up to date on news about Kiawah Island Real Estate, the most recent real estate releases, and the latest happenings on Kiawah Island.

We are one day away from one of our most favorite events of the year: The Spring Tour of Homes.  Eleven incredible homes command this year’s tour and truly showcase the variety of offerings available on Kiawah.  Of course, we encourage you to explore the range of architectural styles, views, and interior design at each home, but this year, we want to give you more.

As you tour, you’ll find inspiration for entertaining in your own home, opportunities to talk with masters in homebuilding and design, and a chance to meet a celebrated Kiawah artist who draws vision for her masterpieces from the landscapes on Kiawah.

Orlando’s got Disney World. New York’s got Broadway. And Charleston’s got…springtime. In the pantheon of celebrated urban offerings, we lay claim to three months of sunny skies, salty breezes, blankets of fresh blooms across the landscape, and a climate to rival any in America. Each year, March 20 heralds the beginning of temperate wine and art walks in the city. Rooftop bars open their doors to a sandaled and sun-dressed clientele. Azaleas blossom, wisteria waves, and the scent of magnolia and honeysuckle accompany romantic strolls through the city.

Friends, we welcome you to enjoy a preview of this year’s homes being featured on the tour, as they showcase a variety of ocean, marsh, and golf views, as well as a range of architectural styles. Following the tour, guests are invited to the KIRE Main Sales Office for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Not only do we wish to welcome you to explore the homes, we also are excited to welcome one lucky Tour guest to win a Linda Fantuzzo original painting. Every attendee will have a chance to win this beautiful work of art by visiting six or more KIRE properties on the tour.

There is something special about shooting on the beach during the winter months. The cold wind, the empty beach and the blue skies have always inspired me to create new images.

The past few weeks have delivered winter to the beaches and marshes of South Carolina.  Days of frigid temperatures followed by days of warm southern air have been the recent norm.  Brilliant blue skies, cool clear air followed by foggy evenings have graced our part of the low country recently.

Here are a few of the images I have created over the past few weeks along the beach, the river and the marsh.

The month of November is when fall truly seems to arrive in the Lowcountry: the temperatures are cooler; yellow, red, and orange hues decorate the trees; and the afternoon sunlight bids farewell a little earlier. While driving around Kiawah the past couple weeks approaching Thanksgiving, we have been especially struck with the peacefulness of the twilight moments. The moments that remind us that no matter how busy or tiring the day was, we will soon be home with loved ones. We are able to experience spectacular Island sunsets over the marsh and beach, again and again. We are thankful for these reminders, as well as many other things.

Not only are we celebrating Thanksgiving with loved ones this week, we are also celebrating the grand opening of Ocean Park's brand new park. Our landscape team has been hard at work the past several weeks, and we have watched in awe and excitement as they have transformed this piece of land from a jungle reminiscent of the Lost World into a breathtaking, inviting park. And now the anticipation of all our dreams for the park—throwing Frisbees, going for a jog, picnicking beneath the live oaks—are finally about to come to fruition.
